In the framework of the implementation of paragraph 63 of the National Plan of Action for the implementation of the Address of the Head of State to the people of Kazakhstan dated January 10, 2018 "New opportunities for development in the context of the fourth industrial revolution", in coordination with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and local executive bodies, the  "National Center of Public Health" of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter - NTsOZ) approved the order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 18, 2018 № 271 "On the morning of May 18, 2018". The Plan provides for measures to implement the World Health Organization (WHO) project " Health promoting school » (hereinafter referred to as HPS).
A health promoting school is a school where health promotion activities in students motivate them to lead healthy lifestyles and complement their educational tasks by acquiring and strengthening personal and social skills that help to improve their academic performance.
National Center of Public Health is the national coordinator of the HPS project in Kazakhstan. Since 2019, in the regions of the country, National Center of Public Health, together with the World Health Organization, has started to conduct technical consultations demonstrating the principles of the school-wide approach to health promotion in schools, taking into account evidence-based practices and best practices of European countries.
